It’s fall – Children’s Book Review

It’s a book that celebrates the season of fall.

Let’s start with illustrations of this book – simply gorgeous! Cut-paper work with beautiful colors that immediately grab your attention. Written by Linda Glaser and illustrated by Susan Swan, “It’s Fall” does total justice to the beauty of fall season.

It’s a book about season change, how everything transitions from autumn to winter and the adjustments required by every one to adapt to the  this change. Simple text and beautiful paper cut designs convey the animal life, plant life, weather, colors, clothing, and feelings associated with the fall season in a very interesting way.

A perfect book to explain the beauty of nature to young readers, this has little bit of everything. From migration of animals, to change in the habitat, to clothing to food, it’s like a complete package about what and how of autumn for kids.

It is a part of a four-book series celebrating the seasons. Like all the books in this series, even this would make a wonderful read aloud to welcome fall and winters. We loved reading it together and also got some interesting activity ideas to try out with the little one.

And the illustrations would make you want pick up your color palette and brush immediately. We anyways love doodling after reading any book. In this case, we went a step extra and did some fun watercolor bookmarks too. After all, fall colors have that magic in them that they bring out the creative best in anyone :).

Do give this a try and let us know if you liked it.
